Treaty of Versailles The Treaty of Versailles was signed after World War I, on June 28th, 1919. It had Germany accept responsability for the start of the war. This was crucial to the start of World War II. The treaty was unfair and so hard on Germany that it was in their own way, a rebellion to the unfair treaty.
German-Polish Non Agression Pact This was an international treaty between Poland and Germany. The pact stated that Poland won't attack Germany, an niether will Germany attack Poland. The Non Agression Pact was signed on January 26th, 1934.
This Pact made Poland feel more secure as a country, and helped Poland maintain good relations with Germany. Atleast that is, for the next five years when Germany Invaded Poland. |
German-Russian Non Agression Pact (Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact) The Pact between Germany and the USSR was also broken by Germany. Germany, like with Poland, invaded Russia when the Pact was still thought to be ongoing. Also, like with Poland, that Pact stated that Germany won't attack the USSR if the USSR doesn't attack Germany. This Pact was signed on August 23, 1939.
USSR helped Germany in the invasion of Poland and was thought to be an ally to Germany. However, German's conquest to world domination also included USSR territory and Hitler did not let the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact get in his way. |
